But defense lawyer John Albanese says many of those arrested were tipped off by undercover police officers.
. "The target was misled into thinking what he intended to do. This raises serious doubts that authorities can prove criminal intent."
"[It] is reminiscent of the Stoney days, when gay men were often discriminated against by the police. The tactics used in these cases fly in the face of proper police work and expose them." Should go."
Sergeant Delgado could not confirm whether the arrests were made by uniformed or plainclothes officers.

Meridian Hill Park has been described as "a gathering place for the region's diverse tribes: black and white, rich and poor, young and old, immigrant and native, gay and straight, queer and queer." . It is also often considered a hangout for gay men of color.
The growth of dating apps like Grindr has created opportunities for encounters other than open dating, significantly reducing the number of arrests for public sex. But cruising still happens: In July 2018, police in Broward County, Florida, arrested 13 men for masturbating or having consensual sex in closed rooms.
The names and mugshots of the men, some of whom were not open about their sexuality, were published in the media, much to their distress. One, a registered nurse, says she lost her job as a result.
Under Florida law, it is illegal to pose in public or private places, "except in places provided or set aside for that purpose."

Defense attorneys argued that Pleasure Emporium is a business "known and advertised as a gay sightseeing area." Its back doors are locked and tickets are required.
The judge ultimately agreed that "there is an expectation of privacy in private viewing theaters where consensual sexual activity takes place in the presence of other consenting adults." I was sitting at the bus stop. It's a really hot day, and this guy sits in the car and just randomly, he checks on me a few times. He drove off, stopped, looked at me, you know, and you drove a couple of times, and finally I think a third time. The third time he stopped and asked if I needed a ride. This was my first experience working with Om, a coding language. I knew he just meant to ride like um, and I got in the car with him, and, um, we got thrown into the field, um, and you know we messed up. The strange thing about the environment and the whole experience was that there was no manual for how to do it. I fell into it myself. It was natural. I Levi Chambers. My pronouns are he, she, her. I am the founder of Rainbow MEDIAC and it is. Every week we share stories for the Queer community. We explore forgotten history, celebrate community changers, and discuss collective trials and triumphs. In today's four-part episode, we dive deep into the age-old sexiness of seafaring. Strangers will keep cruising until apps like Finder make it easier to find a sex partner. Today we'll cover the basics of seafaring, explore its long history, unlock its secret code, and examine the impact of Covid and APP dating on this age-old sexual practice. I think it was something that felt like my genes and my DNA. You know, you have to get up and go out to meet that opportunity, and suddenly it happens. This is Alex Espinoza, a noted author and professor of English at Twe. He gathered his experience of gay touring and combined it with historical research to publish a deep and intimate history of radical entertainment, a fascinating account of the political and cultural impact of radical entertainment. Is. I can't think of a better expert to answer your questions about cruising. Let's jump in. So what exactly is gay dating? We recruited a cruising expert to answer that question. Hello everyone, my name is Alex Espinoza. I am a writer living in Los Angeles. So I look at everything from, you know, the relationship between the power dynamics between men in ancient Rome, to the Molly Houses of Victorian England, to, uh, you know, um, haz...
...Hollywood codes, um, you know, set tea rooms in the United States during World War II. For activists in Uganda, Russia, you know, the world of gays, closets and anonymous sex. So the book is really a comprehensive look at the practice, the timing of its practice and how it has evolved over hundreds of years. Alex holds a bachelor's degree in creative writing from UC Riverside and a master's degree in writing from UC IRVINES. He is currently an English professor at Riverside, not far from his childhood home. I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. I grew up in Um, just outside of LA, in a neighborhood called Um La Puente. Alex was born in Tijuana, Mexico. When he was overweight, he moved with his parents and siblings to the suburbs of Los Angeles. I'm the youngest of eleven children, believe it or not, and um, I was born into a very large, very crowded, um, very noisy household. And um, I spent, you know, a lot of my time, really, I don't have a place. I didn't really have my own room, so I always slept in the living room. Alex makes it her mission to find something to end all the chaos in Rowdy's house. What he discovered was literature. These were the books he was writing and using my imagination. As a recipient of the Margaret Bridgman Scholarship at the Bread Writers Conference, what resonated with me was my childhood experience. Alex also has several books under his belt. He published the novel "Water Saints" in 2077, which appeared in Barnes and Noble and opened a new selection of eight ERs. His second book, The Five Acts of Diego Leon, came six years later, but his most recent release is part memoir and part historical research. There is a book.
